Frequently Asked Questions

We know embarking on a weight control journey may bring a host of questions to your mind. To help you navigate the process with ease, we've answered some of the most frequently asked questions about our program.

Nutrition

At PWCC, we combine modern nutritional science and over 50 years of experience to guide our customers on their weight loss journey, offering comprehensive, holistic nutrition counseling and resources.

Exercise

Exercise alone may not yield significant weight loss, but paired with a physician led weight loss program, it maximizes weight loss and promotes healthy living. An active lifestyle contributes vastly to overall health improvement

Appetite Medications

Appetite control medications are used in weight management programs to help patients combat cravings and overeating. These FDA-approved medications do not directly cause weight loss, but instead work by reducing cravings, suppressing the body's hunger response, and promoting a quicker feeling of fullness during meals.

Serving & Portion Size

Understanding your food or drink intake, based on common units like cups or ounces. The nutritional data on packaged items is tied to the serving size listed on the Nutrition Facts panel. Double-check the "servings per container" as a single container may hold multiple servings. The label's serving size isn't a consumption recommendation, but a basis for comparing similar products.

Body Mass Calculator

BMI is a calculation of your size that takes into account your height and weight. Relying solely on BMI to measure for obesity and risk factors that are associated with obesity has limitations but it is still a useful starting point for identifying risk of certain conditions that are more likely when a person is overweight or obese.
